Introduction
Welcome to the final newsletter of 2006 and the final one edited by me. From now on it is in the very capable hands of Liz Matthews, our office manager and god of all things adminny.
Firstly, congratulations to Joanne Kennedy who recently began her 3rd consecutive Hutchinson Consultancy Interim Assignment. This achievement means she becomes our latest Hutchinson Hat-Tricker and I was on hand to present her with a small token to mark her success.

The theme for this newsletter is “Green” as rising fuel costs, consumer demand and global warming are all having their effect on the food industry. As usual, we have not strayed far beyond our standard newsletter format except for the unashamed green tinge to our news, articles and features.
Our “food industry hero” feature this month is a departure from the green theme but is a deliberately poignant story timed to coincide with Armistice Day and remembrance in general. It features Ronnie Poulton-Palmer, who was heir to the Huntley & Palmer biscuit empire.
Please don’t forget to visit our chosen charity PROPS4WARD. We recently provided them with a MidiCreator, an amazing device that transforms body movements into musical sounds and has been specially designed for use with children with severe learning difficulties.
The introduction of the Age Discrimination Act in October 2006 means that every organisation will have to take action to create age-inclusive working practices. The Hutchinson Guide to the Age Discrimination Act was sent out to our clients earlier this year.
Our featured Q&A interim this month is David Hulbert who shares with us interesting tales of his life as an international interim jet-setter.
Article-wise this month we’ve gone very “David Cameron” and include a piece centred upon the PR advantages of Going Green in the food industry. We also have a thought provoking piece which was published this month in The Spectator predicting the Demise of Tesco.
This year has been enormously exciting for us at Hutchinson. It was always my philosophy to grow the business very carefully in years one and two and put some firm building blocks in place, ensuring we have the right infrastructure to provide excellent levels of service as we grow. We are reaping the rewards of this approach and it is an enormous bonus to have doubled our size in year two. 2007 promises to be very exciting with plans to recruit more personnel to complement our existing team – we will however maintain the philosophy of careful structured growth.
